Brand identity and design solutions for creative businesses and passionate entrepreneurs

Blending Work and Play

September 29, 2016 by Ciera Holzenthal

Thanks to Wente Vineyards for making me stop and think about the journey rather than just focusing on the prize and for sponsoring this post.

6 Ways to Incorporate Fun into Your Workday

I’m truly passionate about helping people grow their businesses, whether it’s by sharing knowledge through blog posts and e-books or designing brand identities allowing them to skyrocket their businesses to new heights.

I am devoted to running my business and blog. There’s nothing quite like creating captivating, cohesive visual branding for a business, allowing it to fulfill its greatest potential.

That doesn’t mean running my business is always easy. Working from home can definitely have it’s ups and downs. Sometimes it feels so amazing to have the freedom, other times I get stuck in a rut.

I’m starting to realize more and more that the importance is in the journey, if you are not having a good time along the way, then what’s the point?

If you are in rut, here are a few ways to make your workdays a little more fun.

1. Collaborate

Feeling lonely or uninspired? Reach out to a few people in your field and come up with a way to team up on a project. Working on a team is a sure fire way to get me feeling excited about work again!

2. Reward Yourself

Track your accomplishments and reward yourself when you hit certain goals. This could be as simple as a glass of wine as you wrap up your work day or as big as that new computer you’ve been eyeing for months! (scroll down for free shipping on wine)

3. Work Outside of Your Office

A coffee shop is the obvious choice but try someplace new like a park or museum, I’ve even extended vacations to allow my self the time to have work days and play days. It’s nice to work from somewhere new if you can. Check out Work Hard Anywhere for places in your area with wifi.

4. Take Quick Breaks

Sometimes just getting up and moving around can change your mindset. Get a little silly and dance around your office! I usually get up and take a break to walk the dog and stretch breaks always get my ideas flowing.

5. Make Lunch Plans

It can be lonely working from home all week, try to make plans with other people who work from home to get out every once in a while for lunch.

6. Change Up Boring Tasks

Find fun ways to get through the tasks you don’t like. For example, The Email Game times you and gives points and positive feedback to help you stay focused while moving through your messages.

Thank you to Wente Vineyards for making me stop and think about the journey rather than just focusing on the prize (which we naturally tend to do).

When you find something you’re passionate about you undoubtingly set aside the time it takes to hone your skill. You put in the time it takes not because you have to but because you love to. You don’t choose the easy or the quicker road but the right road. It’s a journey that you enjoy. It is from that passion point you look to fuel everything you do because it makes your heart sing. Passion is the inspiration behind every single offering from Wente Vineyards, from their fine wines to their summer concert series– passion is what informs their direction.

    Hi,
There are so many dog and animal cafés where I live in Hong Kong, but I’ve seen that not all of them treat the animals with care. It’s refreshing to read about a dog café owner who’s drive comes from a spot of love and not money. I’d love to visit one day. I think the health of dogs very important so If you want to buy CBD For Pets visit this website.

I am always happy to spend 5-10 min showing a dog owner some at home care tips to prolong time in between grooms. If you do want to try clipping your dog yourself remember that there are real dangers to grooming. If you aren’t 100% comfortable when using sharp objects on the dog, the dog will sense that and be more jumpy & wiggly. There’s tons and tons of YouTube videos out therspet portrait

I am sorry you felt that way at the concert! I completely sympathise because it happens to me sometimes too, and just last week a fellow PhD student almost fainted while delivering a paper. Not fun, nope.mobile pet grooming bartlett il

Also, if it is any consolation, I once managed to put the cat’s medicine in my cup instead of hers. Well, thank goodness I realised that :p.dog breeds

this is also my biggest pet peeves. additional examples are making a photocopy, filing one piece of paper, and dictation – having you write something down they just said out loud very slowly (since you were writing).Sphynx Cats
