FROM THE CLIENT Sweet Tea began as a summertime ritual to entertain my own daughters. They delighted in dressing up in my vintage dresses and sipping tea under our weeping willows as I told stories of days gone by. Through the years, friends and neighbors started to join in. The tea party became a coveted event that the girls looked forward to each year. What little girl doesn’t like to wear a lovely dress and share tea and cake in a garden with friends? I recently opened a small business offering these old fashioned tea parties. They offer a whimsical and unique experience in a place set back in time. The girls will be treated like royalty and served tea from fine china as strands of classical music fill the air. Fresh cut flowers and edible delights decorate the lace-covered tables, and story time legends are shared.
DESIGN The client didn’t want the bright pink and glittery look that a lot of her competitors seemed to have. She wanted it to be simple, elegant and sophisticated. We decided to go with a classic silhouette and reference the floral patterns of the vintage tea sets. After the logo and branding was complete we moved on to designing business cards, brochures and signage for the front of the venue.
